Dr. Barry Katz, Seattle Veterinarian

Dr. Katz

I was born in Staten Island, NY, and raised in South Florida. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Biology from Florida State University. I spent a year in Liverpool, England attending the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine before transferring to the University of Florida, School of Veterinary Medicine. I received my DVM degree From UF in 2000.

Even though I attended the University of Florida, I am still a die-hard Seminoles fan! I spent a year practicing at a general practice in Orlando before moving to Boston with my wife Jenya. While in Boston I worked as a general practitioner at a 4 doctor's practice.

In 2004, Jenya and I made a big move to Atlanta, Georgia where I was the medical director for VCA Rosewell Animal Hospital. In 2012, we decided it was time to head to the West Coast and start our own hospital. I always enjoyed Seattle and when I visited Madison Park I knew this was a great place for my veterinary practice and my family. Speaking of my family, let me start with the joy of my life. Her name is Sofia.

She is currently 8 years old, going on 10, it feels. She is almost done with the second grade already, how time flies. My spitfire is my 6-year-old, red-headed son, Caiden. I cannot wait to teach him how to ski in the Pacific Northwest. And of course, our four-legged family. Our cat, Bobo is nearing 14 years of age and is the queen of the house. If it was up to my lovely wife, I think we would have at least 5 more pets! In addition to veterinary medicine and my family, my third passion is playing tennis. I hear it rains some here, so you may see me around at the indoor courts.

I cannot explain how excited we are to serve this community and to begin the next chapter in our lives. We hope to be here a very long time and make this our home for many years to come. Our mission is simple: to treat every pet as if they were our own. Our goal is to provide friendly and family-oriented service to our community. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and your pets. If you are in the area, please drop in so I can say hi and introduce myself personally.

THANK YOU MADISON PARK!
