Dr. Barry Katz

I was born in Staten Island, NY and raised in South Florida. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Biology from Florida State University. I spent a year in Liverpool, England attending the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine before transferring to the University of Florida, School of Veterinary Medicine. I received my DVM degree From UF in 2000. Even though I attended the University of Florida, I am still a die-hard Seminoles fan! I spent a year practicing at a general practice in Orlando before moving to Boston with my wife Jenya. While in Boston I worked as a general practitioner at a 4 doctor practice. In 2004, Jenya and I made a big move to Atlanta, Georgia where I was the medical director for VCA Rosewell Animal Hospital. In 2012, we decided it was time to head to the West Coast and start our own hospital. I always enjoyed Seattle and when I visited Madison Park I knew this was a great place for my veterinary practice and my family. Speaking of my family, let me start with the joy of my life. Her name is Sofia.

She is currently 8 years old, going on 10, it feels. She is almost done with the second grade already, how time flies. My spit fire is my 6 year old, red-headed son, Caiden. I cannot wait to teach him how to ski in the Pacific Northwest. And of course, our four legged family. Our cat, Bobo is nearing 14 years of age and is the queen of the house. If it was up to my lovely wife, I think we would have at least 5 more pets! In addition to veterinary medicine and my family, my third passion is playing tennis. I hear it rains some here, so you may see me around at the indoor courts.

I cannot explain how excited we are to serve this community and to begin the next chapter in our lives. We hope to be here a very long time and make this our home for many years to come. Our mission is simple: to treat every pet as if they were our own. Our goal is to provide friendly and family oriented service to our community. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and your pets. If you are in the area, please drop in so I can say hi and introduce myself personally.

I was born in Moscow, Russia and raised in Southern California. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Biology from University of California Irvine. I then graduated with my DVM degree from the University of Florida , School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Florida is where I met Barry. After finishing school, Barry and I moved to Boston where I completed a 13 month rotating internship in emergency and critical care, internal medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. We lived in Boston for another 3 years where I worked at a 24 hour hospital focusing on general medicine, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and emergency care. In 2004 Barry and I moved to Atlanta, Georgia. For 7 years we lived there where I worked as a primary care day emergency Veterinarian at Georgia Veterinary Specialists. In 2012, Barry and I decided to head back to the West Coast. We love Seattle and decided to make Madison Park our home. We are so glad we did! Barry and I absolutely love this community and our clients.

My passion is in emergency medicine; however I do enjoy establishing long term Doctor-patient relationships. The best part of my job is being able to make a difference in a pet’s life. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, walking in the Arboretum, reading and going to the movies. A little bit about our family. Barry and I have two human children. Sophie (8 years old) and Caiden (6 years old) are absolute joys and can sometimes be seen playing in our office. They also help out in the back, especially if one of our feline or canine patients need some petting or hugging. They both attend Ben Rush Elementary School in Redmond and they love it. We have a cat named Avanti who is 19 years old. She loves to eat and snuggle with the kids. Our other cat Bobo is 14 years old. She loves to to be carried around like a stuffed animal. Unfortunately we recently lost our sweet 15 year old dog named Cody. He brought us so much joy and we miss him terribly.

I would like to thank all of our clients for being very welcoming and supportive. We look forward to building working relationships with our existing and new clients.

I was born in Southern California and raised in Chicago, IL. I received my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University, Go Cyclones. I received my DVM from LMU in Harrogate, TN in 2019. I spent the last year working as an associate veterinarian at a low-cost walk-in clinic in the Seattle area. I have a wonderful husband named Mitch and we have been married since 2019. We moved to Seattle for all the trees and wonderful job opportunities this city has to offer. We have 2 wonderful dogs named Milo and Kida. Milo is a 4.5-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound Lab mix, and Kida is a 1-year-old German Shepherd. We also have a cat named Amber who is about 13 years young. Yes, all 3 love to cuddle and find loads of trouble together. Along with veterinary medicine, I love to read, garden, and spend tons of time outdoors.

I am very excited to be serving your beautiful community. My goal is to make sure your fur babies are happy and healthy for years to come.
