Welcome To Madison Park Veterinary Hospital

Hello Madison Park!

I would like to take a few minutes to introduce myself and my family to this amazing community. My name is Barry Katz and I will be taking over as the veterinarian at Madison Park Veterinary Hospital. I am very excited and cannot wait to meet everyone. I look forward to offering and continuing the great service and care that this hospital has been providing for many years.

I have made the trip all the way from Atlanta, Georgia where my family has lived for the past eight years. We have chosen the Madison Park area because it immediately felt like home to us. My wife, Jenya Katz, is from the west coast. She grew up in Southern California, where her family still resides. Now that we have a family of our own, we knew in our hearts that we needed to move out west so our kids can be closer to their grandparents. Seattle was the place for us!

Speaking of our kids, let me start with the joy of my life. Her name is Sofia. She is currently 7 years old, going on 10, it feels. She is almost done with the first grade already, how time flies. My spit fire is my 5 year old, red-headed son, Caiden. I cannot wait to teach him how to ski in the Pacific Northwest. He will be starting kindergarten soon. And of course, our four legged family. Cody is our shepherd mix. I am happy to report he is nearly 14 years old and is doing great. He does not hear as well as he used to, but some of that may be selective. Our cat, Bobo, is also nearing 14 years of age. She is the queen of the house. If it was up to my lovely wife, I think we would have 5 more pets!

As for me, I grew up in South Florida. After attending Florida State University, I studied abroad at the University of Liverpool in England. I then graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, in the year 2000. This just happens to be the place where I met my wonderful wife, Jenya. She is also a veterinarian and graduated one year after me. In addition to veterinary medicine and my family, my third passion is playing tennis. I hear it rains some here, so you may see me around at the indoor courts.

I cannot explain how excited we are to serve this community and to begin the next chapter in our lives. We hope to be here a very long time and make this our home for many years to come. Our mission is simple: to treat every pet as if they were our own. Our goal is to provide friendly and family oriented service to our community. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and your pets. If you are in the area, please drop in so I can say hi and introduce myself personally.
